I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK
I’m taking on these 30 miles to help raise money for a charity that is incredibly close to my heart.
My grandad is currently living with dementia, and it’s been one of the toughest things to watch. Watching the man who would sing to me, laugh with me and fill the room with so much life, slowly become someone who can simply sit in silence, is truly heartbreaking.
Every day brings a change, a forgotten memory, a forgotten face, or another little piece of the person we know and love becoming harder to reach.
Dementia doesn’t just affect the person living with it; it affects the whole family. And I can’t change what is happening to my grandad, but I hope that by taking on these 30 miles, I can help make a difference to others living with dementia and the families walking alongside them.

I’m also doing this in memory of my husband’s Nanny Doris , who is sadly no longer with us but also lived with dementia. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her, I can only imagine how much love, laughter and how many beautiful memories we would have shared if I had. ❤️
