I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK
This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

30 miles of memories
Tuesday 1st SepThis September, I’m taking on a challenge that means more to me than I can really put into words.
I’m walking 30 miles for Dementia UK, in memory of our lovely mum, who we sadly lost earlier this year.
Losing our Mum has left a huge space in our lives. Grief is a strange thing, some days you feel like you’re coping, and on others, the smallest thing can bring it all rushing back.
But alongside the sadness, I feel incredibly grateful.
Grateful to have had such a wonderful Mum. Grateful for the memories, the laughter, the stories and all the little things that made her who she was.
She was our mum, and we were incredibly lucky to have her.
Dementia is a cruel disease. It doesn’t just affect the person living with it; it affects families, friendships and everyone around them.
Watching someone you love change because of dementia can be incredibly difficult, and there are times when you feel helpless.
That’s one of the reasons I wanted to do something positive for Dementia UK.
So, throughout September, I’ll be putting one foot in front of the other and walking 30 miles to raise money for Dementia UK.
Thirty miles might not sound like much but every mile will carry a thought, a memory and a little piece of Mum with it.
I’m doing this for Mum, for our family, and for all the families who are living with dementia.
I hope that by taking on this challenge I can raise some money for a charity that provides vital support to people affected by dementia.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how much, I would be incredibly grateful. Every pound will help make a difference.
And if you can’t donate, sharing my challenge or simply taking a moment to think of my Mum would mean just as much.
So here’s to 30 miles for our lovely mum.
Thirty miles of memories.
Thirty miles of love.
Thirty miles in her memory.
I’ll be walking every step for you, Mum
