Cycle 300 Miles in June

Help me reach my goal of £1,200

I'm cycling 300 miles for Dementia UK

This June, I'm cycling 300 miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Wednesday 25th Jun
I managed the last miles to reach 300 earlier this evening. Ive also received donations tonight from Mike Bringloe and David and Doreen Leyland, which took  me to over £2000 - some 8x my original target!  Thank you to each and  everyone of you for your generosity which helped me to reach the 300 miles. My knee was feeling the pain but today I heard my operation - due on Saturday - has been postponed! ( forgive the daft expression!) 

Very near to targets!

Saturday 21st Jun
Firstly Im 1.5 miles short of 270 miles. Secondly Im only £3 short of £1800 raised ( thanks Kath for donation this morning!) 
Hoping to get to £2000 beore I do the300 miles!Apparently I am stil top of the leaderboard for this fundraising challenge!

I broke 251 today

Thursday 19th Jun
Despite the heat a couple of rides and I'm at 251  miles ! All down hill from here😂 (PS - I've just corrected the typos from the original  - it was weariness and the sun!)

ive got to 251 miles1 hot today and knees creaking! only 49 miles to go !

I'm now on 210.33 miles and just over £1600 !

Monday 16th Jun
Hot work today  but cycled to Tees and lunch at Talpore . Phone died so Strava not recorded  today but fortunately GPS and iWatch worked to the end.
The support of everyone helps enormously knowing so many want to help!

Broke 180 today

Friday 13th Jun
Knee a bit sore but warner weather helping. Also jhave learned I am top of the leaderboard for fundraising - thank you all. I wish I coud be top for miles but not as fit as I was ! But the point is to fund raise for this cause!

 Ribs and shoulders still a bit sore and I know whey I need a knee replacement but getting there!

sunglasses to start and then 2 soakings! Hey ho! I started going for the 300 miles early due to operation due on 28th. To date I am just under a quarter of the distance needed . Thanks agian to all who have donated so generously!

Managed 10 miles today despite fall yesterday !

Saturday 31st May
Look out for hidden kerbs! Shoulder and ribs sore and a scrape on left knee thats being replaced! But still battling on and trying to reach £1000 which is four times  my original target. I came across a 'leaderboard' by accident and it seems I am second in the list!Not being competitive! But early on with Christene I talked a couple of times to an Admiral Nurse who had the time, expertise and care to give me support.
