I'm taking part in the November Swim Challenge

I’m taking part in the November Swim Challenge for Dementia UK and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Making Waves for Dementia: Why I’m Taking the Plunge

Making Waves for Dementia: Why I’m Taking the Plunge

Every 3 minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. It’s a condition that touches millions of families — changing lives, relationships, and futures. Like many people, I’ve seen how dementia can affect someone you love, and how vital it is to fund the research, care, and support that makes a real difference.

That’s why I’ve decided to take on a swimming challenge to raise money for dementia research and support services.

Whether it’s a chilly open-water swim, a long pool distance, or a personal endurance goal, I’ll be diving in with purpose — for every family navigating dementia, and for the hope of a future where no one faces it alone.

Why Swim for Dementia?

Swimming is more than just a sport — it’s a symbol of strength, perseverance, and calm in the middle of a storm. For those living with dementia, every day can feel like swimming against a current. By taking to the water, I want to honour that struggle and turn it into something positive — raising both awareness and funds for organisations like Dementia UK.

Funds raised will go toward:

  • 💡 Research — finding better treatments and, one day, a cure.
  • 🏡 Care and Support — ensuring families have help when they need it most.
  • 💬 Awareness and Education — reducing stigma and helping communities understand dementia better.

How You Can Help

Every donation, no matter how small, pushes us closer to a world without dementia. You can help by:

  • Donating directly through my fundraising page:
  • Sharing this post to spread the word — awareness is just as powerful as a donation.
  • Cheering me on! Send messages of support, join me for a swim, or track my progress online.

Together, we can make a splash that truly counts
