How do I sign up?

To sign up for the challenge register for your FREE swim cap and fundraising pack here.

When you register, your fundraising page will be automatically set up for you.

Can I take part as a team?

Yes! When you register, simply choose to create or join a team. If you've already registered, log into your account and click on the ‘Create team’ tab, you can then create a team fundraiser and invite others to join you.

Where and when is the challenge?

This is a virtual challenge so you can do it throughout November. Have a look at our handy swim calculator to help you work out how many lengths you need to do!


Is there an entry fee?

No, taking part in the November Swim Challenge is free!

Is there a fundraising target?

There is no fundraising target for this challenge – we just ask you to raise as much as you can for families affected by dementia.

How do I get my free swim cap?

Once you register for the challenge and set up a fundraising page, we’ll send your free swim cap. Please note it may take up to two weeks to arrive.

Can I raise money offline with a sponsorship form?

You certainly can. We’ll send you a sponsorship form in your fundraising pack, but if you need more than one form, simply download and print more copies here.

How can I send in sponsorship money I’ve collected offline?

The easiest way to send cash donations to Dementia UK is by donating to your online fundraising page. Alternatively, you can:

Please email virtualevents@dementiauk.org for your supporter reference number.

Send in a cheque made payable to Dementia UK. Enclose a note including your full name, the email address that you used to register for your swimming cap, and an explanation that you raised the money for the November Swim Challenge. Post it to us at:

How do I keep track of how many kilometres I've done?

Strava is a free, easy to use app that can track your kilometres throughout November. We highly recommend downloading it for this challenge. Be sure to connect the app to your fundraising page, or add your kilometres manually, to keep your supporters up to date. You will also receive a November Swim Challenge tracker with your fundraising pack, which you can use to tick off your kilometres.
