I'm taking on the October Dog Walking Challenge
I’m walking 75 miles with my dog this October and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support. My mum was eventually diagnosed the day after her 80th and died 2 weeks later, my dad was diagnosed 6 months after her death. I have also lost my aunt and uncle to this cruel disease. For me the worst part is not knowing what you are going into every day and it really does take a major toll on your mental health so anything that helps i'd be forever grateful.
An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

Final day
Friday 31st Oct Last day and in total 120.5 miles....and that's with me missing at least 5 walks due to nights out. Only had a few of those crisp autumn mornings that i really look forward to....most of the walks were in pouring rain howling wind and storms but c'est la vie.....we smashed it mate 💪 Share
75 miles completed
Sunday 19th Oct 19 days in and we have completed our 75 miles...ended the way it started in pouring rain but with a lovely stroll along the clyde through the cuningar loop. So many trails to follow that i got lost but the dog managed to lead us back to the carpark.
Day 15
Wednesday 15th Oct Thankfully the weather seems to be playing nice this week and we've had lovely walks with fresh foggy mornings which i love. 15 days in and we have 14 miles left to meet the target 💪might even up it but all depends on my dad and any issues that crop up so for now we'll race toward the 75 and see what happens after . Day 13
Monday 13th Oct So...after storm amy, some minor disasters with the dog (attacked by an out of control frenchie),almost drowning trying to get her ball from the river calder (had to drag her onto a log and up a bank) so yeah we both came home like drowned rats and some absolutely crap weather, we're still powering through and in only 12 days have hit 50 miles. This morning' s walk was uber stressful as she decided it's open season on squirrels !!! However finally got her bandana on and i'm confident we'll have hit the target by this time next week (barring any more disasters) Share
