I'm walking 62 Miles in October
I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.
An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

A Journey of Love, Hope, and Remembrance
Sunday 26th OctThis October, I’ve taken on a very special challenge — to cover 62 miles in support of Dementia UK, a cause that means so much to me both personally and professionally.
As a care worker, I see every day how deeply dementia touches lives. It’s not just memory loss — it’s the gradual fading of moments, connections, and familiarity. I’ve witnessed the confusion in someone’s eyes as they struggle to remember their loved ones, and I’ve seen the heartbreak of families watching memories slip away, one piece at a time.
But I’ve also seen strength — the strength of those living with dementia, and the strength of the carers who provide love, patience, and comfort every single day. Their courage inspires me, and it’s what drives me to take each step in this challenge.
Why Dementia UK?
Dementia UK provides specialist dementia nurses who offer vital support to families — helping them understand the condition, manage the challenges, and find hope in even the hardest moments. These nurses are a lifeline for so many, ensuring that no one faces dementia alone.
By raising funds this October, I’m helping Dementia UK continue their incredible work — giving families the care and guidance they desperately need.
My 62-Mile Challenge
Throughout October, I’ll be walking and running 62 miles — one mile for every moment, every smile, and every memory that deserves to be cherished. Each step represents the countless families who are walking their own difficult paths with dementia.
This challenge is not just about fitness or distance — it’s about honouring those who can’t, and showing that together, we can make a difference.
