Why I'm taking part in the November Swim Challenge

Growing up, my nan was my world. I have the fondest memories of staying over at her house, laughing together, and spending hours at the arcades moments that made my childhood so special.

But as time has gone on, her memory has faded. Dementia has slowly taken away pieces of the woman who once never forgot a single detail about me. Watching her slip away, bit by bit is one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced.

Dementia doesn’t just steal memories it steals connections, stories, and the essence of those we love. Yet, the biggest problem isn’t dementia itself it’s how little people truly understand it.

That’s why I’m swimming this November to make a difference to raise awareness and to help fund the vital research and support that families like mine desperately need.

If you can, please consider donating. Every stroke I take will be for my nan and for the millions of families going through the same pain. Your support can help bring hope where it’s needed most.
