I'm taking part in the November Swim Challenge

I’m taking part in the November Swim Challenge for Dementia UK and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Life never runs smooth!!!

Sunday 16th Nov
So after my first swim of 26 lengths. I went out on fireworks night with our little dog who lost it with the fireworks and I had a fall. The next day was spent in  in A and E having a suspected hairline fracture on my rib. Sooo frustrating  but I started back the following Monday and was delighted that I could swim, albeit slower and only using one arm if doing backstroke. Trying to avoid swimming in circles lol but doggy paddle is doable as well. Have totally got the activity tracker on this app wrong and basically it has worked out that I have not reached the 5K goal as stated but I will reach the 5KM target as long as I swim at least twice a week 25 lengths twice a week until mid-December, which I am doing. And sometimes 30 lengths each time I go. It gets easier I have noticed so if I hadn't had this fall, I would have upped my target, but I know I need to pace myself.  Let's see how I go. I am very grateful to friends and family for their encouragement with something that others may consider a small feat.  Love to all !!!XXX

Friendship can’t be forgotten

Monday 3rd Nov
I am blessed with many treasures. I count my friends as some of my many treasures. They have given me so much support love and encouragement over the years. I have so many wonderful memories which are treasures too. My gorgeous, kind friend Lisa has been diagnosed with early onset dementia and her life has had to take a different trajectory, one none of us expected. It’s changed life for her daughter and family and friends too. We make the most of it and have become closer as a result. Lisa still has her joyful, witty , optimistic nature and I’m always laughing in her presence because of it . I just want to support her like she has supported me all these years and show I care to all who love her. I hope many people will be able to make a difference by raising money to help those like Lisa and their families. And perhaps one day find a cure!
