Fans vs Dementia

I'm taking on Fans vs Dementia

During the course of 90 minutes, 30 people in the UK will develop dementia.

I’m taking Fans vs Dementia and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

£19 could pay for the telephone costs of five families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support.

£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

A blog?

Wednesday 27th Aug
I’ve never blogged anything in my life!

You know what? I’m lucky enough to have never experienced dementia first-hand, but it scares the life out of me.

When my nan passed, we found a book of photos Kate had put together. She had labelled every picture with who they were—almost as if she were preparing for the day she might not remember. That hit hard. Someone who had lived and loved so much, preparing to forget.

My parents died young, so I haven’t had to experience them going through the same thing. But I know so many people dealing with the challenge of someone they love suffering, and it could affect anyone.

Please give if you’re able. This is such a worthy cause. It’s only a 35-mile walk—but I’m watching Reading afterwards. That’s the real challenge!

Thank you to my Sponsors

This should be easy, just a walk in the park really. One step at a time, you can do this. (BTW, our donation works out at 1p for every 16m you walk - it all adds up!)

Hi Stuart, good luck on the walk! May your legs stay strong, your blisters stay tiny, and may Reading provide enough evening entertainment to convince you this was a great idea. Look after those heroic feet — remember, if they start talking back to you, it’s probably time for a sit‑down!”
