We're walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
This January, Richard and I are walking 50 miles to raise money for Dementia UK, a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts.
I cared for my nan after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She lived with dementia for 12 years before passing away in 2021, and those years showed me just how challenging and heartbreaking this illness can be and how incredibly challenging it is to care for a loved one suffering. More recently, Richard’s dad has received a diagnosis of dementia, bringing this cause even closer to home and presenting new challenges for our family, especially with us living so far away this time.
Dementia is heartbreaking to live with and to witness—for those diagnosed and for the people who love them. Specialist nurses and support services make a real difference, and Dementia UK provides vital help when families need it most.
If our walks can raise awareness and funds, even in a small way, it will mean a great deal. Thank you for your support 💙
