Swimming 10K for my Opa

Me & Xander are taking part in the November Swim Challenge for Dementia UK and raising funds for families affected by dementia. We would be grateful for your support.

Recently, dementia has become a big part of my family. As any of you who know me will know about my Opa. A treasured man in my family who has so much love, humour, support and kindness to give. Unfortunately, within the past two years my Opa has suffered from dementia (unknown to him). He is a man who takes pride in every step and is the most inspirational person I’ve ever known along with my nanny. Dementia has caused him so much upset, anxiety and fear, which is saddening as he is such a ball of light. When I used to swim, many years ago, he was my top supporter along with my dad. He has always been my number one fan and always told me how proud of me he is. 

So this is for you Opa, you probably will not see this, which is for your own good. But he knows we love him and will support him through this journey.
