Walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
This January, the team at Right at Home Tyneside is taking on a meaningful challenge: walking 50 miles over the course of the month to support Dementia UK.
As a care provider, dementia is something we see the impact of every day. We support individuals living with dementia and their families, and we understand how vital specialist guidance and emotional support can be. That’s why this challenge is so important to us.
Why We’re Supporting Dementia UK
Dementia UK provides life-changing support through its Admiral Nurses, who help families navigate the complexities of dementia with compassion and expertise. Their work closely aligns with our values at Right at Home Tyneside — putting people first, promoting dignity, and supporting independence wherever possible.
By walking 50 miles in January, we hope to raise both funds and awareness for a charity that makes a real difference to so many lives.
The Challenge Ahead
January can be a tough month to stay motivated — cold weather, dark mornings, and busy schedules can all make getting out for a walk feel like a challenge in itself. But every mile we walk will be a step towards supporting families affected by dementia.
Our team will be fitting in walks wherever possible: before and after work, during lunch breaks, at weekends, and alongside friends and family. Whether it’s a short daily walk or a longer weekend stroll, every step counts.
Why It Matters
This challenge is about more than just reaching 50 miles. It’s about:
Standing in solidarity with people living with dementia
Supporting families who need specialist advice and reassurance
Coming together as a team for a cause that reflects what we do every day
We’re proud to be taking on this challenge and to represent Right at Home Tyneside in support of Dementia UK.
How You Can Support Us
We’d love your support as we take on this challenge. Whether it’s through donating, sharing our message, or offering words of encouragement, every bit of support helps us make a difference.
Together, we can help ensure that no family faces dementia alone.
