I'm taking on the October Dog Walking Challenge

I’m walking 75 miles with my dog this October and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Here’s Simba setting off on his walk this afternoon!

Simba is adjusting to the walking regime - on sufferance! 🤣

Tuesday 30th Sep
So we started a few days early just cos we might have an October weekend away and I want Sim to have his full 31 days of opportunity 🤣

Lovely evening last night so Nick and I took him out together after work… let’s just say he was all ready for an evening on the sofa and the walk out was full of pauses & lagging behind. Until he realised we were heading back then his tail was wagging and he walked at the front 🤣 he will get more into it! He hasn’t walked long distances with us for a good while cos Big Dave couldn’t walk more than 100m so it is getting him back into it! 

I’ve told him what a great cause it is and how everyone will appreciate him making the effort but I think it might take a couple more donations to motivate him!! 🤣 give the little guy your support - he’s a lovable lazy lad  😊

Simba really does complain when it comes to a walk! So supporting Dementia UK seemed a great motivation to insist that he comes out and walks with me! So this one is definitely sponsoring Simba to overcome his ‘I don’t like cold / wet / wind  / my sofa is too cosy’ in support of a fabulous cause. I’ve had family members & family members of friends devastatingly impacted by dementia. It would be amazing to find a cure . Thankyou for sponsoring Sim (& me!)
