I'm swimming for Dementia UK

I'm taking on a 30-Day Swimming Challenge and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Thank You for Your Incredible Support!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored me, donated, shared words of encouragement, and supported me in raising money for Dementia UK.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, together we raised £165 for this wonderful charity. Every donation, no matter the size, will help provide vital support to families affected by dementia through the work of their specialist Admiral Nurses.

Your kindness and encouragement meant so much to me throughout the challenge. Knowing so many people were cheering me on made every swim even more worthwhile.

Fundraising is about more than reaching a target—it’s about coming together to make a difference, and I’m so grateful to everyone who helped make that happen.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your generosity, your support, and for helping raise awareness of such an important cause.

Together, we’ve made a difference. 💙

I did it 😍

I Smashed It! Swimming 12K in June for Dementia Charity

June was a month of early mornings, aching muscles, and determination—but I’m so proud to say… I did it!

I set myself the challenge of swimming 12 kilometres throughout June to raise money for dementia charity, and I’m thrilled to say that I smashed my target!

Every length I swam was for the millions of people living with dementia, their families, and the incredible charities working tirelessly to provide support, fund research, and raise awareness. There were days when motivation was high and others when getting into the pool felt like the hardest part, but knowing I was swimming for such an important cause kept me going.

Completing the challenge has reminded me that small, consistent efforts really do add up. Every lap brought me closer to the finish line, and every donation, message of encouragement, and share on social media helped keep me motivated.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported me, donated, cheered me on, or simply asked how I was getting on. Your kindness made a real difference and helped turn a personal challenge into something much more meaningful.

As someone who values creativity and community through my work in millinery, it felt wonderful to step outside my comfort zone and support a cause that touches so many lives. Together, we’ve helped raise awareness and vital funds that will make a difference.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to setting new goals, embracing new challenges, and continuing to support causes that matter.

Until the next challenge…

Daily swims

Wednesday 17th Jun
When I set myself this challenge… I wasn’t sure if I would be-able to do it.  I’ve set aside lots of negative thoughts I had  about why I didn’t like swimming and just got on with the task. What has surprised me is how much I’m enjoying it, not feeling too self conscious and what I do love is how well it’s making me feel.  Thankyou to everyone who has sponsored me. X

12k swim challenge

Saturday 13th Jun
This week, I started the swim 12k challenge. I’m
really  please that it’s gone well, I’ve managed to complete my first week and swam 165 lengths which equals 4125m. I’m hoping next week goes well too.

Well this week, I’ve started my 12k swim challenge to raise money for Dementia UK. So many families seem to be affected by this, with little known about it or why it happens.
This week, my morning swims have been going well and it’s definitely the motivation I needed to get in the water . It’s the first time doing something like this and I was inspired by others.
