I'm knitting everyday in November for Dementia UK

This November, I'm taking on the Dementia UK November Knitting Challenge by knitting every day and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone.

Dementia affects millions of people, changing lives in ways that can be overwhelming and heartbreaking. That's why I'm supporting Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity. Their Admiral Nurses provide expert advice, practical support and compassionate guidance to families when they need it most.

Just £33 could fund a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour supporting a family, helping them understand their options, cope with difficult situations and feel less alone.

For Grandad George ❤️

My grandad George was recently diagnosed with dementia. Although he is a very sociable and chatty man, we started to notice a decline in his memory and recognition of certain people and places. While getting his diagnosis was no surprise to any of us, the reality of what lies ahead for his journey was undeniably heartbreaking for the family and for him too! 

He is currently  on medication which on the whole gives him clarity and helps a lot. That said he has good days and bad days! 

One thing we can say is that there has been a lot of support from various organisations for both him and my Nonna (his wife) ❤️ and it has really helped!

So when I saw this challenge to knit/crochet (something I already enjoy) every day in November to raise money for DementiaUK it was an easy commitment to make!

I am going to be making small items from Earrings, keyrings to possibly small plushies. I will post my works with the link to donate and should you wish to adopt an item with your donation, please message me and I will arrange delivery/collection. (I can’t keep all of my makes!)

If you can donate, it would be very much appreciated and going to a very good cause close to my heart, but if you can’t I would really love your support by sharing my fundraiser!
