I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.
An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Why I am raising money for Dementia UK
Monday 25th Aug Hello, I took care of my mother full time these last 5 years. She was diagnosed with dementia in 2016/2017. I lived through this wretched illness with her, watching her go through all the different stages. The thing is, there are so many types of dementia and it affects everybody differently. My mother lived to 91 and was loved and taken care of by myself and my brother (who also had to work). She was never lonely or confused for too long because we never left her side. We loved her with all our hearts as she did us all our lives. Deep down, she was all there. She knew who we were and occasionally when she didn't, we would remind her and just loved her some more. She knew she was wanted and well taken care of. I hope they find a cure for this terrible illness. I am not sure if it will be in my lifetime but it gives me joy to know I contributed in a small way to try and make that happen.
