Day 3

Saturday 3rd May
10.5 ish kilometers today. By my count I should have hit around 16 - 17 miles today

Day 1

Thursday 1st May
About 7 miles walking today, was aiming for 4 but managed a little over 7 today. A great start. Thank you sponsors for the contributions, it’s nice to know that I can put my passion to good use. Cheers

T-Minus 1 day

Wednesday 30th Apr
One day before starting the May challenge, I covered just over 4.5 miles today. The heat was intense but these bright hot days are few and far between so will enjoy then. Looking forward to the start of the challenge tomorrow.

T-Minus 7 days

Thursday 24th Apr
A nice >9km walk after almost a week of no activtity. The image is misleading as 0.9km of it was around the house. Hopefully this will help nudge a few more contributions in for this very worthy cause.

T-Minus 13 days

Friday 18th Apr
After a nice uphill walk to the downs to get a cheeky cider. Today  is a day to potter about and do some chores. Maybe a  walk of a couple of miles later in the afternoon to the village to keep up practice

T-Minus 14 days

Thursday 17th Apr
Two weeks before the start of May. 62 miles sounds daunting, but it is a few miles a day. I am going to do a trial walk with my friend Mark up to the Epsom Downs. It’s a 2 mile uphill walk to the Derby Arms, a nice practice with a drink at the end.

I’m walking 62 miles for dementia

Wednesday 16th Apr
I  am walking for Dementia UK in May.  Those people that know me, know I love walking and try to get my steps in everyday. My initial target is 62 miles, however I aim to exceed this and exceed the the amount I raise several times over my target.

Dementia as a condition is becoming more commonplace. Various members of my extended family have suffered from dementia. It has turned vibrant and engaging personalities into a shadow of their self and  impacted their quality of life. I am hoping that whatever amount I raise will help improve the quality of life for those who do not have a support network, unlike most of my family members who had family to support them.

Thank you to my Sponsors
