Cycle 300 Miles in June

I'm cycling 300 miles for Dementia UK

Those who know my family, know that my mum suffered from Dementia in her later years.

It is a cruel disease that robs families of time together and is heart breaking to watch.

It also strikes people of very different ages. Treatment has improved a lot, but there is further to go.

This June, I'm cycling 300 miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

There we are then.

300+ miles  done.
£300+ raised.

I am very grateful to you all for your support, it meant a lot. Anything that can be done to relieve te suffering that people like my Mum go through has to be a good thing and hopefully families can soon have a better outcome than my poor Mum.

Keep up the good work all.....

Well over half way

Wednesday 18th Jun
71 miles to go, with 13 days left, should be doable.

Also going well on fundraising, increased the target slightly.

Weather looking good, but hot over the next few days so hopefully can hit 300 miles early, but will keep going to try and encourage more to support.

A week and a day in

Sunday 8th Jun
Doing ok so far.  8 days done, 10 miles ahead so far, but this week working quite a bit so the miles will be hard to keep up.

But, if behind hopefully then the couple of weeks after will give me the chance to catch up.  I want to make sure I hit the target, as fund raising for this charity is close to my heart as I said at the start.

Thanks all for your support, but keep sharing, as not at the target sponsorship level yet.

Day 1

Sunday 1st Jun
Nice day to start. Little ride with sun out and gusty wind. Will share progress. Please share the link to others as well please to help us raise more money for research and support of this cruel disease.  We will beat it, but let's do it sooner rather than later.

Thank you to my Sponsors
