A cause close to the heart!

Thursday 25th Dec
Hey everyone.

My nan suffered with dementia and lost her life in July 2025.  This charity is a cause so close to my heart.

Watching my nan deteriorate overtime and slowly forgetting  me was extremely heartbreaking for myself and all our family.
The first time I realised there was something wrong, was on my birthday. I never received a birthday card from her (which was one thing our Nan was very well known for… sending cards and signing it ‘Nan in Devon’)
I contacted a family member about my concerns and eventually received the awful news that Nan had dementia.
I visited her as much as I could but each time I went, she’d forgotten me more and more till she eventually didn’t know who I was at all.
Dementia not only affects the person who is suffering with it, but also affects family and friends in many ways.

This is the reason myself and my partner have decided to walk 50 miles in January to raise money for Dementia UK.

Anything big or small would be greatly appreciated by Marcus and myself, as well as everyone else in the world who has been affected by dementia or may still be suffering with dementia.

Thank you for your time and wish us luck ;) xxx
