Winter Reading Challenge

I'm doing Winter Reading Challenge for Dementia UK

This winter, I'm reading and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

I honestly can’t thank everyone enough for the love and support shown so far 🌸

To have raised over £100 in our very first day of fundraising means more to me than I can put into words.

Every donation, share and kind message means the world to me. This is all for such an important cause, and I’m so grateful to everyone helping us make a difference for families affected by dementia. 🩵

We’re only just getting started, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together! 📚

✨❄️ Reading to Remember — Winter Reading Challenge for Dementia UK ❄️✨

Thursday 15th Oct
You all know how much I love to read! Well, this year I have decided to take part in a winter reading challenge to raise money for DementiaUK, a charity that holds a very special place in my heart.

My two best friends are also joining me on this journey and we have made our team, Reading to Remember 🌸

Growing up, I spent so much of my time with my grandparents. My grandma loved reading just as much as I do, and we spent countless nights reading together before bed. My grandad wasn’t much of a reader himself, but I would find him sitting down with his newspaper every morning. 📚

My grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Neurovascular dementia which devastated our family. Watching someone you love face dementia is incredibly difficult, and losing him was, and still is, my biggest heartbreak.

That’s why this charity means so much to me. I want to help make a difference, support families facing a diagnosis that can turn their world upside down, and hopefully make that journey a little less frightening and lonely for others in the future.

So, this winter, we’re turning the pages for a purpose. Every book we read and every donation we receive will help us raise awareness and support the incredible work Dementia UK does for families affected by dementia. 📚

Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference, and if you can’t donate, sharing this post would be just as appreciated.

Reading to Remember 🩵💙💛💜
