I'm walking 62 miles in May

I’m walking 62 miles in May and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

My Updates

Challenged to the end

Sunday 8th Jun
It was a bit of a push and ended up with groin strain.  But it was all in a good cause - and was especaially thinking of Mum during my walks.

Finishing Line

Saturday 31st May
Got in a muddle with miles done - not sure if my Fitness Page has updated.  I think I've reached the 62 miles.  Had to really push myself on this last day - doing three separate walks to try and reach the finish line.

On the Edge

Wednesday 28th May
Still playing catch up.  Got 3 miles in today.  Still 15 miles to go and only 3 days left!! Lots more walking to do!

Miles & Miles

Sunday 25th May
Still behind with my mileage.  I need to walk, or run or both, at least 4 miles as day if I am going to complete the 62 miles by the 31st!

Buttercups

Wednesday 21st May
Stroll round and about, with dark clouds overhead.  Buttercups sprinkled in the Park.

Windmill Wander

Thursday 15th May
Got a few miles in today with a long walk.

Running to catch up

Sunday 11th May
Still quite a way behind with my mileage.  Had anice walk round Ashburnham on Friday and manage a little run on Saturday to add to mileage.  It's warm and sunny at the moment and I hoping the nice weather will help me get more miles under my belt - once I have got my Hospital and Dentist appointment out of the way.

Watch the Birdie

Tuesday 6th May
Nice walk round the park - wind was a bit cold, so coats on today.

A Walk in the Park

Monday 5th May
Sadly my walking hasn't got off to a good start as I was stuck in bed for two days suffering from fllu-like symptom after having a Covid Jab.  I didnt feel up to doing my 2 mile yesterday and struggled again today.  Although I did manage a walk through the park and across the fields before the rain started!  Got a lot of catching up to do now.

Day 1 - Party Time

Thursday 1st May
Sun shining - first walk be round the shops on my way to my Grandson's Pizza & Doughnut birthday party.  Booked a dentist appointment, bought a second hand Chest of drawers,  and had a Covid jab on my way there. Hoping the walk will burnt off the calories I consume!
