I'm taking part in the November Swim Challenge

I’m taking part in the November Swim Challenge for Dementia UK and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

My Updates

So so proud of myself,

Tuesday 16th Dec
I had to stop at 123 lengths as I got the most horrible cold. I asked Eleanor if I could have extra time and she said I could.
But tonight I completed my 5K swim.
I have cared for many people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia over the last 30 years and if I have helped just one person in doing this then it is well worth the many times I have had to go to the baths.
I found it difficult starting at the shallow end so I had to keep going to the deep end and swimming down but
I did it and I am very very proud of myself.

Swimming for Dentia U.K.

Friday 7th Nov
Hi Everybody !
My name is Lynne Booth, and I am 70 years young.
All my life I have wanted to learn to swim  but life’s events have always got in the way.
Now it’s my time and my Sister-in-law has been a fantastic help as has my husband.
I have been a Warden of Sheltered Housing for 30 years looking after  people, and lots of them getting the Dreadful  Soul wrenching Disease Dementia.
This Disease is Terrible, it takes their life and even strips them of their memories!
Yet if you put a record on they will know the words,  the same  with Dance they will remember the steps.
So, at 70 I have learnt to swim  I am still a little slow but I am getting there and going to the baths every day.
Please help me  by Donating whatever you can for the people suffering  with Dementia and there Families who suffer just as much when they can’t remember  there names, or the Wonderful Memories they have made over there life together.
What Better reason to learn to swim,  I am going to do this I promise and I Thank you all for taking the time to read this update.
