I'm taking on the October Dog Walking Challenge
I’m walking 75 miles with my dog this October and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.
An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

19/10 Last 4 km of run.
Sunday 19th Oct Raining. Katy and I walked in the rain and supported the runners. Share

18/10 Stanmore country park
Saturday 18th Oct 3.75km and 5110 steps. Today I met my friend Liz and we walked our dogs - Katy and Kit . They love running around the park together. In their element. We especially arranged to walk the dogs together because we know it makes such a difference to them to have each others company to chase and be chased. Share

10/10 3.19km walk into Bridgnorth
Friday 10th Oct Katy is still poorly so a short walk into town today. Share
7/10 2.34km Stanmore Country Park
Tuesday 7th Oct Another small walk today with Jack. Katy is still in hospital. Share
6/10 4.08km Stanmore Country Park
Monday 6th Oct I took Jack out on behalf of the Cinnamon Trust. Share
6/10 Katy is poorly
Monday 6th Oct Katy is poorly. Not eating and has drank only a small amount. We took her to emergency vets yesterday and luckily it is not the sausages we gave to her. She had anti sickness medication and we have to take her back if she’s no better so we’re going today. Share

4/10 1.42km Walcott beach
Saturday 4th Oct We had a quick walk up and down Walcott beach this afternoon. Beautiful and very easy for Stew on his tricycle as it had a concrete walkway. Went for some lunch before the heavens opened and wind lashed the promenade. Share
4/10 4.34km lost along the cliff top
Saturday 4th Oct Lost along the cliff top. Very windy - not very pleasant. I wanted to get off the cliff top before I was blown off. Katy was oblivious to my concerns and found lots of lovely smells and horrible poo which she thought was delicious and scented behind her ears. Share
3/10 6.15km Wells
Saturday 4th Oct We went to Wells-next-the-sea. Had to see the famous beach huts retailing at £78,000. Then along Wells harbour wall. Share
3/10 2.91km Mundsley beach
Saturday 4th Oct Our usual morning (2nd day) beach walk. I wish it was our usual walk but can’t complain - Bridgnorth is very nice. Dull day with spots of rain. We met an older couple who are here with their labradors aged 8 years and 4 years. Katy had a lovely play with them. Barking and barking and asking to throw the ball. She was very polite and let the other dog s catch them although they are quicker than her anyway. Share
26/9 6.15km Loam walk Coalbrookdale
Thursday 2nd Oct This was an early walk as I couldn’t walk on 1stOctober. Katy loved the walk along the stream and in historical woods. We even went to see a Quaker burial ground through the railings but nothing very interesting for Katy. Share
2/10 3.45km Mundsley beach.
Thursday 2nd Oct Katy had a lovely hour on the beach. She met with four doggy friends who encouraged her to paddle in water and waves. She jumped over the sea breakers and was brave enough to go wandering alone checking every so often that I’m still there while I was watching from the path. We had a short stroll of 3.46km. 2/10 5.78km Sandringham

Wednesday 1st Oct Dementia with Lewy bodies affected our mum. She died in 2014. (DLB) is a progressive brain disorder that causes a gradual decline in mental abilities. It's characterized by abnormal protein clumps in the brain called Lewy bodies, which disrupt brain chemistry and kill nerve cells. DLB affects thinking, movement, behavior, and mood, and often develops over many years in older adults. ShareThank you to my Sponsors
