Walk 31 Miles in May 2026

I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Walk 4

Saturday 9th May
Little walk after our 12 hour work day today, pretty sure the girls thought I was just taking them on a random tangent😂 honestly if you’d of asked me last week if I’d want to go for a walk after work I’d of probably just laughed, but it felt like a really nice way to unwind. 4.27km equates to 2.6 miles, so that leaves 20.1 miles to go👣🦋

Walk 3

Friday 8th May
Had 2 little friends that could quite literally walk this whole challenge in one day🐾 I’m pretty sure people think I’m crazy when I’m walking them because I talk to them like humans😂 4km equates to 2.4 miles, that leaves 22.7 miles to go👣🦋

Walk 2

Friday 8th May
Walk 2 was a little further (no French bull dog that I was scared was going to die) this really is the motivation I need to get up and out, 6.69km equates to 4.1 miles, that leaves 25.1 miles to go👣🦋

First Walk

Wednesday 6th May
Today felt like the perfect day to start this challenge for me, today my Grandad Trevor would of been 84, Grandad suffered with Vascular Dementia for around the last 4 years of his life, it started slow, the changes were minimal and unless you looked really closely you wouldn’t of noticed the little things that indicated his dementia, but the mental decline towards the end of his life happened very fast. Grandad kept his happy, funny, take it as it comes personality through out his dementia journey and for that I feel very grateful and blessed. I miss him every day, this walk today was solely his and I felt like he was with me throughout. 3.1km equates go to 1.8 miles, so that leaves 29.2 to go👣🦋
