I'm taking on the October Dog Walking Challenge

I’m walking 75 miles with my dog this October and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

🩷 Dementia Matters 🩷

Hi, I’m Kristy. I’ve been a carer for 16 years and love my job so much I couldn’t imagine doing anything else, but let’s rewind back 16 years a 24 year old  helping to look after her Nana who was having difficulties with her memory, which eventually progressed to Dementia 🥹 a scary experience for our whole family as we watched my once a bright bubbly, talkative geordie nana slip away infront of our eyes. I enjoyed helping her with her personal care, medication, general well being  and a whole lot more, which pushed me to quit my job and start my caring career. 
Fast forward 16 years and I’ve loved every minute of helping families going through the same troubles, worries and uncertainty that we did. 
Most recently a very close friend and his family experienced the same thing with him mam and again heartbreaking to watch. 
I’m going to take this challenge on with my dog Poppy and enjoy every moment of it 🩷 I don’t particularly have an amount I want to raise I just know that anything will help 🩷🫶🏼
