I'm taking on the October Dog Walking Challenge
I’m walking 75 miles with my dog this October and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.
An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Friday 31st Oct 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉WE DID IT!!!!! 75.6 miles completed. Today we did a celebratory walk with Hunters BFF and completed this section of Iris’s Civic Award and raised a massive £405!! What an achievement! Very proud of you!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉☀️ Share
28th October
Wednesday 29th Oct Not such a massive walk today. It’s half term and we strolled along the road and green. Hunter ran for us all today we had calm walk and enjoyed the sunshine. Iris has done so well bless her and encourages the dog like he needs it to reach the goal. Little does she know he probably ran this the first week. 🤣 anyway another bit smashed and 4 miles I think to go. Share
26th home stretch
Sunday 26th Oct Today we walked around the harbour along the seafront up through abbey park and home. We took Hunter and the scooters so they could all burn up some energy! Home for hot chocolates even pup had a special doggy friendly one. All happy and worn out. Off for roast beef now and yes Nanna makes one for Hunter too! Share
Walks and ice creams
Saturday 25th Oct Big walk today which was rewarded with ice creams. Hunters exhausted and won’t get out his bed not even for cheese. Think we have exhausted him today. Happy tired doggy Share
Cold walk today.
Friday 24th Oct Was a bit chilly out there today. Hunter lived his best life in and out the the hedges. He’s soaked and looks like he’d been dunked into water. Iris is also soggy from running in the grass! Share
Evening walks with Iris .
Wednesday 22nd Oct We have done the same lap most evenings which is around 3 miles depends on who’s watch we go by 🤣 Iris plays with Hunter and cartwheels her way through the walks so can do a lot more than I do🙈😂 oh to have that much energy!

Monday 20th Oct Big walk today! Both shattered and drying off! Pup has curled up and passed out. I think he needs a bath later he’s very stinky! Share

Sunday 19th Oct Apologies my phone was swapped over and I lost all coms for a few days. Little Lady and been walking and enjoying the last of the dry weather. We did a lovely walk along the Babbacombe downs and through Cary park this week which was by far her and Hunters fave walk this week. Share
Perry pears and hiccups
Sunday 12th Oct Today we took a walk around our local area and found a Perry pear tree Hunter thought they were a tasty treat as he helped himself to the fermented ones on the floor. After a chase to remove anymore he thought he’d swallow it quickly and it soon became apparent than Hunter was indeed a little drunk and hiccuped the rest of the way home! (He’s absolutely fine this evening thankfully and playing like his normal self) Share
Evening walks with dad.
Saturday 11th Oct Cloudy Walks with dad tonight around the harbour with Hunter. They spend so much time together and love walking pup together. Another 2 miles
Chestnuts and chasing leaves
Friday 10th Oct This morning Hunter and I went collecting Chestnuts and whilst I collected he chased the leaves. Clearly running 3 times the amount I walked.😂 Share

Iris walks Hunter through the orchards
Tuesday 7th Oct Home to cockington and over the fields through the orchards. Wow what a walk. The sun shone and we ate fresh apples straight from the tree, Hunter included! Iris and Hunter are both exhausted and curled up under a blanket. Iris’s nanna and her dog joined us today. Share
Walking in the sunshine
Tuesday 7th Oct Little mile walk just because the sun shines. After school Iris will also walk this evening. Maybe a little evening beach swim for Hunter too. Share
Walking with my friends
Sunday 5th Oct Today Iris walked with Her BFF and her doggy. They are both walking for dementia so today they joined each other. Another 4 miles down. Well done ladies! Hunter was walked with me this evening at his favourite place and is now snoring by my feet! Share
Pup walk with his new Dementia neck scarf
Saturday 4th Oct Hunter is now rocking his new dementia neck scarf. Iris is of course excited to walk him with his new accessory. He’s to cute for words. Share
Walking in the rain day 3
Friday 3rd Oct Just a little one today. 1.3 miles. It’s rained all day and Hunter has a sore foot from chasing a ball under a chestnut tree. We all were very soggy. Share

Thursday 2nd Oct 2nd walk done today . Iris has been unwell but tonight she wants to give him a walk togther. 2 long walks in one day. He’ll sleep well again tonight. Share
