Walk 50 Miles in January 2026

Help me reach my goal of £150

In Irene’s footsteps

I love walking and so did my mum. She could walk for miles with my dad. Sitting on benches along the way, watching the world go by, until dementia took that ability from her.  The wheelchair gave her a new prospective. We would walk her to places she  liked to go, until dementia took her for the last time on my birthday last year. 😢 The 2nd of January would have been my mum’s birthday and what better time but to walk some miles in memory or her.  Obviously the aim is to help raise funds to help ensure nobody faces dementia alone, But I have my personal reasons too.. I appreciate it’s not the easiest of months to donate, but any contribution , however big or small, WILL make a difference.❤️

Tuesday 13th Jan
23 miles in 13 days . My knee is so much better. Weather hasn’t been the easiest but we keep going. My dad is my inspiration. 💙💛

15 miles in!!….

Thursday 8th Jan
….and going strong even after a little knee twinge 2 days in. 🤦🏼‍♀️I think we’ve had all sorts of weather this week. From beautiful sunshine, snow and ice and  now the storm that’s brewing. We will not be broken….all for you mum.🩷

Totally overwhelmed

Friday 2nd Jan
What a day it’s been.. Totally emotional.
This is the first day on the challenge for me and the first 1 1/2 miles were walked with my dad. Who better to start the challenge off with?  I’ve been an emotional wreck today being my mum’s birthday., on top of donations coming in thick and fast. The love and support we have been  shown today is unbelievable. Thank you.🩷
