We're cycling to help families with dementia

Our family - Jon, Claire, and our adult sons Patrick and Rhys - are  taking up Dementia UK's summer challenge to cycle 50 miles on 18 July. Why? To help the charity ensure that no family faces this disease alone. We've seen how challenging dementia can be. Jon's brother Paul (in the centre of the picture above) was diagnosed with early onset vascular dementia at  just 62. His partner is a constant and loving carer. But anyone caring for someone with dementia needs help themselves.  Your donation, big or small, would help make a difference. For example, £33 would fund one of Dementia UK's new specialist "Admiral" Nurses to spend an hour giving practical solutions and emotional support to a family in the community. Thank you!

We did it!

Sunday 19th Jul
We were lucky to have a beautiful day to ride our 50 miles. Our route took us mostly through shady lanes in sun-baked countryside. We kept fed and watered in local cafes and a sunny pub garden. We made it home late afternoon, amazed and grateful for so many generous donations. Thank you all so much.
