I'm taking part in the November Swim Challenge

I’m taking part in the November Swim Challenge for Dementia UK and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Mission complete

Sunday 30th Nov
Well, I've done it. I actually completed it early as pushed through and managed to swim 80 lengths on Tuesday. Definitely couldn't have managed 80 in one go at the begining of the challenge. Started doing 20 or 30 lengths t the start and thought 50 or 60 would be my max, so I'm pleased with the increase in stamina. So pleased I could do this for Dementia UK. Maybe next year I will aim high and see if I cando at least 15k! Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me and sponsored me. I know the money raised is much needed for all those struggling with the cruel and difficult challenges that Dementia brings. Over and out! X

Oh go on then, I will increase my target.

Saturday 15th Nov
Well, I'm at day 15 of 30 and I can certainly say  that morning swims are now a feature in my life, never thought I would say that. I know a lot of people could easily knock out 5k (250 lengths) across a month but I can honestly say that for me, it is a challenge! However, I have now got to 200 lengths (with intention of it being 250 by the end of the weekend), so I have decided to push myself and aim for 500 lengths- 10K. I don't want to be pushy about asking for sponsership, but if you think Dementia UK are worth supporting and you can spare a few pounds, I would really appreciate your support. 300 lengths to go!

Jess's November Swim Challenge 2025

Sunday 2nd Nov
I have a small amount of personal experience of how cruel dementia can be, through my lovely Gran who suffered from this dibilatating disease, and who died in February 2023. So when I saw that I could raise some money for Dementia UK to support families facing tough times, through commiting to some swimming, it seemed a no brainer. I am not especially fit but can swim a few lengths, so I have committed to swimming 5k during November, but hope to exceed this. If you are able to spare a few quid to sponsor me, I would much appreciate it. Thanks all, love Jess
