The 36 Hole Challenge

Help me reach my goal of £500

I'm doing The 36 Hole Challenge for Dementia UK

I’m taking on The 36 Hole Challenge and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

£21 could pay for the telephone costs of five families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support.

£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

One last push

Wednesday 15th Jul
Well it’s almost time and I’ve got all the kit ready plus Els and extra balls 😂 
Went out early yesterday  morning 8.00 and did 9 holes so I don’t wear myself out !! Plus remind myself how to hit a ball ..
Loved it and missed it . wishing mum could see me now !! 
Well a quiet night not as the England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 team about to play xx
So everything crossed 🤞

Mid week match 3

Monday 6th Jul
Wow what a scorcher it was today xx playing the lovely Jackie and to begin I just couldn’t find my rhythm not that it’s a clear one !!! until the 6 where it went wrong lost 2 balls on the dreaded corner ..
Got the the 10 and we laughed and thought it can’t get worse well it didn’t for me but it was too late to pull anything back xx Jackie was amazing even offering a hug which I knew would make me crumble so head up and chin out xx I can’t complain being in the golf course with wonderful caring women and playing a sport I’m loving xx mindfulness fresh air and peace  xxthinking of you mum xx

Mid week Match 2

Saturday 4th Jul
Well my heart wasn’t quite in it today after receiving a call from carehome about mum!! The doctor is looking into the next stage for her .. so will update x
But this is why I’m doing this as I never got the chance to play golf with her.
Catherine my opponent was in incredible and the tiger came out .. beautiful watching shot after shot and getting a par so I tried but just couldn’t match her .. but again loved being out with friends and talking and pushing through xx congratulations Catherine a well deserved win xxx 

Mannings Heath

Saturday 4th Jul
Match Play and what a lovely venue !
Partnered with Linsey Parris who can really hit a ball over trees and played amazingly unlike me who’s ball loved the rough and spinning off to right 😂 but we kept up the pressure and Drew.
It was a hot day up to 28-30 degrees and we felt it .
Loved every minute and still can’t believe I’m doing it xx 

1st match day

Friday 19th Jun
Well today was my 1st match day at Cottesmore Golf ! Beautiful place and amazing people.. 
Sunny and hot but what an experience! Fantastic course would definitely love to play there again xx 
Unfortunately I lost but it’s the experience and playing that counts xx well done to the winners well deserved xxx

Wow what a morning playing x
Felt good being back on the course and wow had my best round ever 
2 pars and I so happy my score card is looking healthy 
Can’t wait to tell mum the news and see how she reacts fingers crossed she remembers xx 😘 

Aussie Day foursome golf

Wow well that’s a completely different format of golf I’ve never done before and now promise my partner Lucie I will improve 😂 
It’s alternates shots  for those that don’t know !! Like me .. 
I felt sorry for Lucie as trying to play someone else’s shot is strange as you know how you play but this was a different level . 
But we did it xx will definitely try again xx

Johnson Cup

Saturday 30th May
End of the month and it’s the Johnson Cup where you partner up and  4BBB .. Wow 🤩 great fun and amazing to watch scratch player Greg nearly get an Eagle on the 3rd  of the wind had blown it would have gone in instead of hanging on the edge and he nearly did it again on the 7th .. it’s all good practice for the 36 just need to keep practicing and watching and learning xx 😘

Lovely evening out with these ladies some just starting out but wow 🤩 they’ve all got talent so pleased they found they’re buzz just like me xx

1st Medal Competition

Wednesday 27th May
Well what a day 1st Medal competition and it was tough in the heat but it’s all good practice x
Fantastic company with Lucie at Chartham Park golf course xx came 6th so not too bad .. onwards and upwards.. more golf updates tomorrow x

Well we Ladies were out there today and the support is for each other is appreciated and that’s why I love the game and help others less fortunate..
