I'm taking on the October Dog Walking Challenge

I’m walking 75 miles with my dog this October and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

That sounds like something I could do

I’m well excited to get my free doggy bandana! I have 2 dogs, will they have to take it in turns or will we have to walk 124miles instead? Now that would be a challenge!!

Now I need to embrace the biggest challenge of all and actually remember to record the walks on this unfathomable Garmin watch of mine. Keeping the bloody thing charged is usually beyond me.

What a wonderful time of the year to walk. I thought maybe I would have to pay you for the privilege so I have given myself a generous donation of £33. Apparently that pays for a new dementia welfare advisor and emotional support nurse for an hour and that is something I have experience this week at SDH where my dad has been following his hip op. It felt odd I have to admit, I couldn’t fathom her point. Emotion support. A foreign concept to me. What a wonderful lady, I will get behind that.
