November 5km Swim Challenge

This November, my little sister Ava and I are taking part in the Swim Challenge for Dementia UK and raising money for families affected by dementia. We will be swimming 5km between us, which is 200 lengths of a 25m pool. 

This cause is very close to my family’s heart because in March, we lost our incredible grandad Ernie to this horrible disease. We have so many amazing memories with our grandad and are all still coming to terms with his loss. 

Our hope is that any money we can raise, can help the many patients and families that are affected by dementia every day. 

We would be super grateful for your support, no matter how big or small. 

Over 944,000 people in the UK alone live with dementia and just £33 could fund an hour with a  dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

In memory of our amazing grandad, we love and miss you everyday 💙

5km challenge COMPLETE!! 200/200 lengths 🏊‍♀️🩱

Our 5km challenge is officially complete! Ava and I completed the final stretch of our 5km swim challenge today, with Ava managing 33 lengths and me 35… doing a combined 68 lengths between us! So happy to have completed this challenge, and for a cause very close to our family’s heart 💙 thank you so much everyone for your support, it means the world xxx

Another 30 lengths each done!

Thursday 13th Nov
Ava and I swam 30 lengths each tonight, taking us to 134/200 lengths completed for our November swim challenge. Only 1.5Km left to swim now… thank you to everyone for your support, it means the world 💙

74/200 lengths done!!

Saturday 8th Nov
Ava and I made a start on our challenge this morning and have completed 74/200 lengths of our challenge, equivalent to 1850/5000m. I hit my goal of 1km and Ava managed an incredible 34 lengths! Currently trying to work out how to add this distance to the page :) thank you so much for all your support 💙

Our first Kilometre swim!!

Friday 24th Oct
Last night Ava and I challenged ourselves to swim our first kilometre! We went for a lovely evening swim and managed to get 41 lengths in… taking us over the 1KM mark. We are so grateful for everyone’s support, it means the world to us. We are so close to our target goal amount of £300, so any support/shares/donations are greatly appreciated 💙

Sunday pool practice ahead of our swim!

Sunday 19th Oct
Ava and I went to the pool today and got some practice in for our 5km swim throughout November! We did 32 lengths each today - I’m so impressed with the lengths she is swimming at just 11!
