Reason for the swim
Saturday 1st NovThis November, I’ll be swimming 10 kilometres to raise funds for Dementia UK, in honour of my nan, who had dementia.
Dementia is a condition that affects millions of people and their families across the UK. Having seen the impact it had on my nan and those around her, I wanted to do something positive to support the work Dementia UK does for others going through the same journey.
The Challenge
10K is no small distance — it’s the equivalent of 400 lengths of a 25-metre pool — and it will be a real test of endurance and focus. Training is underway, and I’m determined to complete every length in support of this vital cause.
Why Dementia UK
Dementia UK provides specialist help through its Admiral Nurses, who offer practical advice, compassionate support, and expert care to families affected by dementia. The money raised will help them continue their essential work, giving families the guidance and reassurance they need.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference to those living with dementia and the families who care for them.
