My Charity Swim for Dementia Awareness

This year, I’m taking on a special challenge that means a lot to me — a charity swim to raise funds and awareness for dementia support. I’ll be swimming 15k at my local swimming pool which is 20 length everyday all thought November or more, this is in honour of my wonderful Nan, who is currently living with dementia in a nursing home.

Watching someone you love slowly change because of dementia is incredibly hard. My Nan has always been the heart of our family — kind, funny, and full of stories. Even though dementia has taken parts of her memory, her warmth and smile still shine through. This swim is my way of showing her, and others like her, that they’re never forgotten.

Dementia affects over 55 million people worldwide, and that number is still growing. The money raised from this challenge will go towards Dementia UK, helping provide care, research, and support for families affected.
