It’s kind of ironic that life has got in the way a little whilst completing this challenge, life as a ‘secondary carer’ for someone living with dementia, my lovely dad.🩷 Every time it’s felt hard in the pool, I just think of my mum and the ups and downs her daily life brings being dads primary carer, the strength it takes is inspiring and devastating all at once.  I take my (swimming) hat off to all the unpaid family carers out there, this is for you, you sort army of warriors, driven by love 🩷

Update-Week one

Friday 7th Nov
Approximately 
1,500 to 1,800 people are diagnosed with dementia each month in the UK. In the time it takes me to complete this challenge, up to 1800 individuals and their families will receive a life changing diagnosis. People can live well with dementia, with access to diagnosis, support, social interaction and engaging in hobbies and activities they enjoy. Every penny raised has the potential to change lives, thank you if you’ve donated, please donate if you can 🩵
