Why this is a challenge

I have been seeing this advert pop up on my Facebook for a few weeks now and talked myself back out of signing up. 

So if you are thinking about sponsoring me you want to know it’s an actual challenge right? Not something I do every week? Well it really isn’t! 

This is going to be a real challenge for me for a few reasons:
1) I am a slow swimmer! I know swimmers who will do double the distance I can do in one swim 
2)  I’m not exactly streamlined! More than I was six months ago, but there’s a long way to go so it makes swimming harder
3) I don’t have the best technique 
4) I currently swim once a week, to get the distance in I will need to swim 3 times a week for the full month, a big increase in exercise levels!
5) going out swimming at 8pm in the dark is hard! I love my sofa and blanket in an evening!

All that said this is such an important cause to raise money for, watching a loved one fade away from dementia is much harder than all those things I mentioned above!
