I'm taking part in the November Swim Challenge
Hello to all my friends and family.
I’m taking part in the November Swim Challenge for Dementia UK and raising funds for families affected by dementia. We lost Julie's mum Rita to dementia and we have personal experience of the value and need for support.
£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support. If we can raise enough for just a few hours it will be a real help to people like you and me.

Friday Nov 1st : Day One - A bit of a splash!
Wednesday 5th Nov My first swim in an indoor pool for...well....a very long time! It's a lot warmer than the Irish Sea where I normally swim, and a lot calmer than the ocean where my horrendous front-crawl kicking action is less noticeable.But very pleased that I got through my target 30 lengths without calling in the lifeguard. Just apologies to all the 7.00AM lane swimmers at Sale Leisure Centre for the water turbulence! I'm afraid I'm going to need a crawler lane!!
