I'm running 100K for Dementia UK

Hi, my name is Charley and I am running 100K throughout the month of February to help raise money and awareness for Dementia UK. 

I have chosen to take part in this challenge as Dementia is an illness that is very close to mine and my families hearts after my Grandpa was diagnosed with it sixteen years ago as well as my Grandad and Nana being diagnosed more recently in 2019 and 2023. 

Dementia is a cruel disease, stealing cherished memories and altering the very essence of a loved one. It’s not just an illness that affects the person diagnosed, it ripples through families, leaving emotional, financial and physical impacts on caregivers and loved ones. 

When my grandparents faced this illness we learned firsthand how difficult it is to deal with, we also saw how much awareness and funding is needed to help families across the country acces this care. Running for Dementia UK is my way of giving back and ensuring that other families have the help they need when Dementia touches their lives. 

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
