I'm walking 62 miles in May

I’m walking 62 miles in May and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Why I’m walking 62 miles in May

Thursday 17th Apr
Dementia is a cause close to my heart; my lovely mum is suffering with Lewy Bodies Dementia at the age of 71, and I wish so much that there were more treatments available to slow down her decline, if not stop it altogether. I’m walking 62 miles for her, my dad who is her 24 hour carer, for my late uncle and grandparents who battled it, and for everyone who suffers with this horrible disease both now and in the future. As a bonus I enjoy walking, especially with my  wife, and it’s a great way to keep me in good health with my Type 1 Diabetes and post TBI Epilepsy. We’re lucky to live in Derbyshire where there’s endless amounts of beautiful places to walk.
