I'm walking 100 miles in May

I'm doing this challenge because a somewhat sedentary lifestyle (mainly due to the type of work I do) has meant that I had to have a reality-check in my 43rd year and focus on my health. I started walking 2 miles each day a couple of months ago, as well as making other lifestyle changes. When I saw this, it very closely aligned with my own goals and so I thought it was worth a good go.

I'm fortunate, in that dementia hasn't really impacted my immediate family. But, that's not to say that it couldn't, and I have numerous close friends for whom it has. So, I see this as a very worthy cause.

To that end...

I’m walking 62 miles (I'm actually hoping to do 100) in May and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!
