We're doing The 36 Hole Challenge for Dementia UK
Hello everyone! We are Lavi, Rosh and Anoop - a group of skilled to less than beginner golfers and we're taking on The 36 Hole Challenge and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need.
Lavi - I’ve had the experience of seeing my Grandad go 12 rounds with dementia, and having our family and friends support us when he was around made a huge difference to us and to him. My grandad was someone who would help anyone in need, whether they were family or strangers - and I’d love to be able to honour him and his legacy by doing seva (selfless service) in his name.
Rosh - Similarly to Lavi, my experience with Dementia is also from seeing how it affected my Grandfather before he passed away and how Dementia has affected my wider family. Anyone who is either suffering from Dementia, or whose family member is suffering from Dementia, will go through an incredibly tough journey. Fundraising for such a great charity that provides invaluable support is an honour and any contribution that you're able to make is greatly appreciated!
Anoop - My grandad’s sister has been living with dementia, and watching her change over time has been one of the hardest things for our family. It’s painful to see someone you love slowly lose parts of who they are. Being able to work with such a good charity means so much to us. It gives us a way to do something, to raise awareness, raise funds, and help support the amazing work the charity does do for people living with dementia and their families. It makes us feel like, in some small way, we can make a difference.
We would be extremely grateful for your support!
£19 could pay for the telephone costs of five families calling Dementia UK’s free Helpline whenever they need support.
£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
