I'm walking 30 miles in September
I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.
An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

Monday 8th Sep Hello,
Day 7. Target reached
Sunday 7th Sep Hello there. Passed the challenge today with 32miles (or 34 on my fitbit). At the Barbican today and walked around the area. It was very quiet. The train strike has had some impact. After a short walk, had lunch with two friends and saw Goodnight Oscar at the Barbican...wow! Wonderful performances with a funny, witty, observant script. Best play I've seen all year. Up for awards, surely. Will continue walking. Thanks for popping by. Share
Day 6. Local
Sunday 7th Sep Just a short walk today. Intended to go to Hyde Park, but ended up in my local as short on time. Quite uneventful. A few people were playing bowls in the club. After a few laps, off to meet a friend at the Goethe Institute for tea, before seeing a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Discovered the RAH is hosting a sumo tournament. That's a novelty. Shame the tickets are so expensive (£153+) Share
Day 5. Local walk
Friday 5th Sep Hello.
Day 4. Along the Thames
Thursday 4th Sep Second walk of the day, along the River Thames, including Bankside and the South Bank. London at night can be magical....and no rain!

Day 4
Thursday 4th Sep Hello again. Thank you to Hazel for my ginger and lemon tea at her lovely home, before Hazel, Stella and I started our walk in Seven Kings Park. Yep....it rained...on and off...but we persevered! Share

First day
Monday 1st Sep Hello Folks. Just a quick summary. Decided to kick off the challenge in Leigh-on-Sea. So popped on a train and followed an easy trail through Hadleigh Country Park, passing the castle en route. I only passed two other walkers, so enjoyed the quiet calmness. At one point, I dodged for cover in the castle......rain! But soon over. ShareThank you to my Sponsors
