I'm swimming 10 miles for Dementia UK

I’m going to swim 10 miles during June to raise money and awareness for Dementia Uk. As June is Brain Awareness and Research Month, I’ll be wearing a purple swim cap every session to mark the month and raise awareness for those affected by dementia.

I have chosen to swim 10 miles to represent the 1 in 10 older adults diagnosed with dementia, as well as the fact that Lewy Body Dementia accounts for 10-15% of dementia cases.

This cause is very personal to me and my family, as we have seen firsthand how Lewy Body Dementia affects not only the person living with it, but also the people around them.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!
