I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.
An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Saturday 30th Aug My grandmother had dementia, in the end she did not know who we were. My grandad kept her home as long as he physically could but it got too much and he was heart broken watching his wife become a shadow of herself and seemingly living in another timeline. She nearly set fire to herself smoking and her temper was fierce. Thankfully she was cared for in a lovely home where she chatted up the male staff and appeared more at peace.I’ve worked in wards with dementia patients and it is so hard and you never knew which version of the person you were going to experience. Sometimes you could sit and listen to their stories and other days they didn’t know there family had visited and grieved their perceived loss.
Anything I can raise will go towards making the lives of dementia suffered and their families a little easier
