Book #14 - Catching Up On Comics

Tuesday 27th Oct If you saw the stack of comics I have that are laying around waiting to be read, you'd probably have a fit. So before going away to see my girlfriend tomorrow, I wanted to try and read a couple to take them off my list. Usually I'd wait until I've finished a book, but my current book (Quite by Claudia Winkleman) is non-fiction, so it's not like I'd be mentally mixing fictional universes or stories. Today I've read issue 11 & 12 of the current DC All In run of 'Batman' comics, and before the day is out I want to read their 'Batman Of Two Worlds' one~shot. I have 44 minutes left! Hopefully I can squeeze that in too. Share

Book #13 - Quite

Monday 26th Oct I've finally got around to starting Claudia Winkleman's book! I spent years searching for this in multiple towns, cities and Waterstones .... only for my girlfriend to find it in her local The Works and put in my hands one afternoon. So thank you Keels, as I wouldn't have found it without you <3 And after being only 20 pages in, I've already laughed an awful lot. I think I'm going to quite enjoy this, and not just because Clauds is my celebrity crush Share

Book #12 - The Princess Diarist

Thursday 22nd Oct This wasn't on my original reading list but, as I write this, yesterday would have been Carrie Fisher's 70th birthday. I didn't expect to be struck with such emotion - oh, how I sobbed. And to combat the emptiness in my chest and heart, I reached for her book 'The Princess Diarist'. I'd started it a long time ago in a lifetime far, far away and only got 90 pages in. I hate never finishing a book and slept with it under my pillow to reach for it at any moment... which didn't happen for years. But I missed her, my god did I miss her. I could write lengths about my love for her, but I'll save that for somewhere else. I just wanted to spend time with her, and what better way to do so than to read her own words? Almost 50 years old now. As I write this I've just read up to page 191 and spent probably 120 minutes or more watching videos of her on YouTube, laughing away at how endlessly funny she is, and falling deeper in love with how gorgeous she is. Carrie Fisher, one of the purest definitions of women and femininity. Share

Book #11 - The Story of Tracy Beaker

Monday 19th Oct After finding it in a charity shop, I've finally got my hands on a copy of the actual Tracy Beaker book. A show I've watched since I was a kid, rewatched through my teen and adult years, and loved seeing the recent show where she was a mum herself (and Cam was finally a lesbian). But I'd never read the book itself, so as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to buy it. And after getting all of about ten pages into it I started to bawl. I almost had to put it down because it was that emotional for me. But I also laughed a whole lot because Tracy is hilarious. I managed to read 51 pages before putting it down, and I think I'm gunna treat myself to a 2:30 am snack now. Share

Book #10 - Baze And Chirrut One-Shot Comic

Monday 19th Oct This recently arrived in the post so, before digging into a whole new book, I wanted to quickly read this. I try my best not to overlap what I read so I can fully focus on one thing. I had a lot of fun with this, and it has one of the most gorgeous double page spreads inside a kyber crystal cave. Share

Book #9 - Batwoman: Hydrology

Sunday 18th Oct After finally finishing 'Thrawn: Alliances' and struggling through it, I decided to pick up a graphic novel as a pallet cleanser. I had so much fun with it, wished it was longer, and finished it in just two sittings! Now I need to decide what to read next. Share

Book #8 - Thrawn: Alliances

Saturday 3rd Oct I am super excited for the next series of 'Ahsoka' coming in January, and before starting this reading challenge, I set myself another one: I wanted to read all of the "Thrawn Trilogy" before the season starts... Except there's three of them. I meant the original three from the 90's, but then I found out about 'Alliances', where Thrawn embarks on a mission with Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. Which is followed by 'Treason', where he and Director Krennic - one of my favourite 'Star Wars' characters - butt heads over Project Stardust. So before 'Ahsoka' season two, I have five (5) Thrawn books I want to read. And in the early hours of today, I started the first one. Share

Book #7 - Batgirl of Burnside

Thursday 1st Oct I've been waiting to read this for ages. Back in October last year, Batgirl/Barbara Gordon became a really important and relatable figure to me for personal reasons. I started to collect and read a load of her New 52 comics, and was going to do the same with the latter half, until I saw they were all being collected and released as a DC Compact comic. After finishing 'Ring', I thought it would finally be time to take a little trip over to Burnside Share

Book #6 - Ring

Tuesday 29th Sep I started this on September 27th and am thoroughly enjoying it, way more than I thought I would. I'm already 220 pages into it! Which I managed to read in two days (it's just turned midnight here in the UK and I've not picked the book up again yet, though it is calling to me... maybe another chapter or three before bed?) Book #5 - The Stealers of Dreams

Friday 25th Sep 24 September 2026, a four hour train journey ahead of me, which helped me get through ten chapters and 145 pages of this book, followed by another two chapters when I got home. Today I've read yet another two chapters and only have 50 pages to go until I finish it, very excited for the next one! Whatever it may be, as my to~be~read list is incredibly long. Wednesday 23rd Sep After eyeing this collection of Seventh Doctor comics up for years, not only have I finally got around to buying myself a copy, I've finally read it too! Share

Book #3 - The Dock House

Tuesday 22nd Sep My third read of this challenge was the newly released 'Silent Hill' comic that ties in with the upcoming 'Townfall' game, I was so excited to read it and it's definitely left me wanting a lot more of this iteration of this universe. Share

Book #2 - Batman: Rebirth, Issue #1

Saturday 19th Sep After finishing 'Gotham Central', I sat down to quickly read the first issue of 'Batman: Rebirth' for Batman Day 2026. I'm hoping to sink my teeth into a more traditional book soon, I'm just waiting for the right moment and to have the energy for it. In the meantime I have quite a few comics to get through, at least.
