I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
This January, I'm walking 50 Miles with a baby strapped to me and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone.Your donation, big or small, makes a difference.
I am walking for my late nanny, who had dementia for several years.
Growing up, we were very close and only lived round the corner from us. As she got older we noticed she was getting very forgetful and not herself. She was diagnosed with dementia and my grandad became her carer with family helping by cooking meals, driving to where they needed etc. She had it for several years and it was so hard to watch her deteriorate and eventually not remember our names. This cruel disease felt like she had been taken from us and broke our hearts. Although not with us anymore, she will always be in my heart. I would like to walk to remember her and all those suffering and help give them the love and support them and their families need.
