As most of you know my beautiful Mam unfortunately suffered with Dementia the last few years of her life. We were one of the lucky families who never completely lost someone to Dementia, meaning Mam always knew who we were, yes she may have got names mixed up at timea but she always remembered we were her family. This doesn't mean Dementia was a smooth and easy road for any of us, we could see more and more of the woman we knew and adored slowly change and bits of her and her memory slip away, other families face even further heartache where their diagnosed loved one totally forgets who they are. It's a cruel disease all round for not just the patients but also the family and friends of the patients who witness the devastating effects the disease has. This is why I'm determined to keep raising funds to help find further treatment and hopefully one day a cure. I'm doing it all in Mams memory. 

Now a some of you may know, I have had a rough 9 months after a freak accident and this has left me with not only needing a spinal fusion but also an aortic aneurysm. I have been instructed not to do anything too exerting or strenuous but have been cleared to try this as long as I pace myself and listen to my body. Anyone who knows me knows I'm slightly stubborn and hates giving in so I am determined to do this for all those facing this horrific disease day in day out!
