I'm walking 62K with my dog for Dementia UK
This March, I'm walking 62K with my dog and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Our story in a short version 💐
Friday 21st Feb My Beautiful Nan unfortunately got diagnosed with dementia in July of 2023 and by January 2024 she sadly passed away. The reason I’d love to raise more money for dementia research is because I think it’s such a scary unknown thing for so many people. Before my Nan got diagnosed I realised certain things that had changed but there are things that make sense now but at the time didn’t. I’ve lived with my nan for my whole life and she never once stopped loving, caring and protecting me so when nan got diagnosed it was without a question I’d help look after her. I never realised quite how hard it’d be. Every week there was a new change in her, wether that’d be from putting things in funny places to lashing out aggressively which was NOT like Nan at all. The changes were so quick and you could not keep up with them! Sleepless nights would make day to day life so difficult but it’d do it all over again as she looked after me for so many years and she wasn’t always that way. People with dementia where people before the diagnosis they had Independence, happiness, freedom and so so much more. I think it’d be so amazing for more research for people to be educated on this as I really thought I knew it all and reality hits super quick and you soon realise you don’t.Thank you to my Sponsors
