The 36 Hole Challenge

I'm doing The 36 Hole Challenge for Dementia UK

I’m taking on The 36 Hole Challenge and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

£19 could pay for the telephone costs of five families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support.

£33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

36 Hole Challenge

Tuesday 17th Jun
Hi guys my name is Thomas Peers and I’m doing the 36 hole challenge this summer with my friends Will Martin and Aaron Hendley in aid of Dementia UK.
The reason why I’m doing this is to spread awareness about how hard it is for families suffering with a loved one who has been diagnosed with dementia and the challenges that comes with.
My Nan was diagnosed with Lewy body Parkinson's disease when I was younger and have seen her decline throughout growing up and know how tough it is on people like my grandad seeing his partner slowly getting worse and worse without any way of improving. Too those who don’t know what Lewy bodies Parkinson’s disease is otherwise knows as PDD, it is a type of dementia that develops in some individuals with Parkinson's disease, characterised by the presence of Lewy bodies (abnormal protein deposits) in the brain. While Parkinson's disease primarily affects movement, PDD involves cognitive decline, including memory and thinking problems, alongside the motor symptoms of Parkinson's.
So if anybody is able to make a donation of any kind I will be most grateful.
Thank you for reading this blog and will post updates coming up to the date.
